The Peace Makers are apart of The Community Public Safety Partnership (CPSP). is a registered 501c3 charity organization We host a dinner party every 4th Friday of each month with community leaders, people from the community, law enforcement and clergy. Our goal is to work together to Stop The Violence! Gun Violence and Teen Violence are in need of Preventive Endeavors concerning Public Safety and the quality of life in all neighborhoods in New York.
The names of the groups that we partnership with are, T.B.S. New direction, Peace December and United We Stand. We are also on a mission with The International Stop The Violence/N’ Love With Love Campaign and Fight For Your Rights Movement. The Peace Makers and Guns Down Skillz Up Movement is a success and welcomed by many in the community. We work with Project Connect and are a part of The Re-Entry Program to assist former incarcerated prisoners. The main objective is to assist them to becoming law abiding citizens. We value they are and what they want to be.
Robert “Rob” Williams, The Supreme President of The Peace Makers was born December 8th, 1951 in Harlem, New York but currently lives in Bronx, New York and is 65 years old. He’s married to Mrs. Mildred Williams and has 4 children, Robert Prince Patterson, Tyrone E. Williams, Rachelle M. Williams and Lajon L. Berkley. He also has 2 brothers, Dwight Williams, Manny James Williams, and 4 sisters, Karen Williams, Veronica Williams, Phyllis Williams and Tina Williams.
Robert worked at The Youth Service and Broadway Agency and is currently self-employed. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in the Bronx. Today he is also a member of The Community Public Safety Partnership CPSP and works closely Guns Down Skillz Up. He is a member of The Gethsemane Presbyterian Church pastored by Dianne Lacey. He is determined to spend the rest of his life being a positive force, bringing people together to Stop The Violence.
In 1971, the 174th Street Bridge Boys changed their name to The Peace Makers. The men who founded The Bridge Boys were Harold “Slugger” Garner and George “Sweet T.” Knight. The first selected and appointed Supreme President of The Peace Makers was Robert “Rob” Williams. “Slugger” became President of the 1st Division and “Sweet T.” became the President of the 2nd Division tototaling 23 Divisions and 6 Peace Makers Chapters, The Warlords, Death Makers, Savage Makers, Outlaw Makers, Murder Makers and Fun City.
The Peace Makers and Black Spades have been club brothers and allies since 1971 establishing a strong bond of Love, Peace and Respect. The Peace Makers home base was at 168th VYSE Ave. and 173rd Street in the Bronx, New York. The club house was in the basement that was called the “Web”. The Web held parties, dances and meetings. Since 1971 The Peace Makers and other groups have been involved with Madison Square Boys and Girls Clubs on 173rd Street and Hoe Ave. The Peace Makers have been volunteers and mentors on call to do Fitness Workshops, Calisthenics, teaching Chess and Self-Defense. The Peace Makers History is stll being made today. We have left the past behind and forging straight ahead in a new direction.
