Moments of I Am The PeaceMakers: A Photo Story of Hope and Compassion

 We are The Peacemakers. We’ve formulated ideas to this platform as a way not only to speak about social injustices but also help our communities in the Bronx and NYC areas to better our youth. We’re former gang members who are active in the pursuit for change but we also realize how much more we can contribute to society.

 We know we can be a positive influence to the world. As former gang members and inmates our experiences from our past could help the youth understand their potential and make better choices with their lives to become responsible citizens. It is imperative that we make an impact on the future of the world before it’s too late.

 We’ve used sports as a vehicle to get involved with our youth participating with The Madison Square Boys and Girls Club introducing track camp, basketball, boxing, self-defense and other vigorous training courses requiring volunteers and mentors with no limitations for the children. We plan to make frequent trips back to the
neighborhood and work with organizations such as The Boys and Girls Club that will aid in our quest to be mentors and provide services to the youth and the community. We’re seeking to find ways we can bring programs back into schools to lend guidance for our kids.
